Find the width of the window by using a tape measure.
Use a utility knife to cut the cardboard tube 1/2 inch shorter
than the window's width. Measure the window's height. Add 8
inches for the extra fabric needed on the top and bottom and 2
inches extra on either side.
Put the tube at the top of the fabric and fasten the tube to the
hem with a hot glue gun or a staple gun. Roll the tube until the fabric covers
it, and glue the fabric to the tube with a hot glue gun.
Roll
out the blind in full and lay your fabric over it, make sure
you have material hanging off each side to fold over the
edges. Spray your blind using the spray
adhesive and slowly lay your fabric onto the blind, starting
from the top and working your way down. Be sure to smooth any
wrinkles out as you go..
Spray cloth adhesive to the back of any trim or design you plan
to add. Apply quickly and let dry according to manufacturer's
instructions.
Crease and iron a hem on the
bottom of the fabric with fusible
sewing tape.
Flip the blind over, iron the sides of the fabric to fold over
the edges, use spray adhesive and to attach to the blind.
You can use a 1 x strip of wood at the bottom covered by the hem,
or raise or lower the shade by rolling it up and tying braided
cords, ribbons, rope, or other materials around it to fit your
theme.
Install the shade on the rod in the
window and you've just made yourself an instant no sew window
blind.
